All our bread and pastries are made with great passion. We specialise in slow tin bread, special mill bread and tasty flans. In our shops, the customer faces the bread head-on. Our shop employees are the ambassadors of Bakkerij van Heeswijk. In our shops, there is a lot to smell, taste and enjoy.
How it began
The history of Bakkerij van Heeswijk begins with Grandpa Janus. It was he who opened a bakery at his parental home on Dorpstraat in Luyksgestel in 1914. Janus baked various types of bread, but was particularly successful with his gingerbread.
Thanks to that cake - which we still bake today according to his secret recipe - his bakery survived even economically difficult times.
Where we are now
Anno 2024, we have grown into a thriving family business. The third and fourth generations work together in the bakery in Luyksgestel. You will find our ten shops in the Kempen region of Brabant, namely in Luyksgestel, Bergeijk, Dommelen, Valkenswaard, Meerhoven, Veldhoven, Bladel, Eersel, Hapert and Reusel.
As a family of bakers from the Kempen region, we are proud of our craft. Our four core values are Craft, Family, Kempen and Hospitality. We work hard to live this out every day.
Our slow bread
Every night, our bakers are busy making 'slow bread'. Our dough is still given time to mature and rest. This gives the bread more flavour and keeps it fresh for longer. Slow bread' doesn't just appear on the shelf. Without our bakers, shop assistants, drivers, cleaners and packers, we would be nowhere. Together we make it happen.
We are proud of our craftsmanship and our family business
