AFTER 99 YEARS BAKERY WIELAND IS TAKEN OVER BY BAKERY VAN HEESWIJK

Bakkerij van Heeswijk will take over Bakery Wieland from Hapert from 1 May. Nol and Mia Wieland started their search for a suitable successor last year. Bakkerij van Heeswijk turned out to be the perfect match. Nol Wieland: 'Craftsmanship, quality and the family feeling. We have a lot in common.'

Wieland Bakery has a good reputation in Hapert and surrounding areas. The family-run business that started in 1924 has a branch in Hapert and in Reusel. Since 1987, it has been run by Nol and Mia Wieland. Nol says: 'I learned to walk in the bakery and soon knew I wanted to become a baker too. The bakery is an important part of our lives. We've always enjoyed it immensely. We are very grateful to our employees and customers for that.'

With retirement age approaching, Nol and Mia want to enjoy their leisure time more. Their children have other ambitions. 'It feels good that the shops won't be empty, but that our customers from Reusel and Hapert can still enjoy bread and pastries from the bakery.'

Trust in each other
Fleur van Heeswijk complements Nol. 'We are proud and happy to be coming to Hapert and Reusel. Despite the challenging times we live in, we are confident about the future of our bakery. The acquisition process with the Wieland family was pleasant. Nol and Mia consider it especially important that everything is well organised for their employees and customers. Of course we will do our best for that.'

Rebuild
Saturday 22 April 2023 is Nol and Mia Wieland's last working day. From 24 April to 31 May 2023, the shop in Hapert will close. Reusel will remain open, but the shops will both be remodelled. This will give them the look and feel of Bakkerij van Heeswijk. On Thursday 1 June 2023, both shops will be festively reopened.
