Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Roll out the dough between 2 sheets of baking paper into sheets ± 3 mm thick.
- Cut out the moulds for the house (on the back of the leaflet) and place the moulds on your dough. Cut out the different parts of the house with a knife. Place the pieces of dough on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
- Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Let the speculoos cool completely on a wire rack.
- In a saucepan, melt the sugar for the caramel and brown it. Keep warm on a very low heat, but make sure the caramel does not colour any further. You will use this caramel as 'glue' to put the different pieces of the house together. Work quickly, as the caramel stiffens quickly. Attention: caramel is very hot, so it is better not to let children do this!
- Mix the egg whites with the icing sugar and stir well. Place in a piping bag and decorate with the icing. Finish with icing sugar for extra snow effect.
